These automatic drawings are what happens when I empty my mind and just let my hand draw. Sometimes I get an idea about what to do next while drawing. When I do, I go with the flow. This is an experiment. I hope to make some automatic drawings every day, maybe even for the next whole year. I want to watch them develop and see if I'll discover a personal visual language. These are not finished, polished pieces. I draw them on letter sized bond paper with pencil. The idea is to not become too precious about the process. Most of them take only a few minutes to complete.

I get the thematic statement regarding the dog and cat when juxtaposed with the symmetry in all things man made. I even like how nature is represent outside, also asymmetrical. Good attention to detail.
